Pediatric Speech Therapy

Our Pediatric Speech Therapy program helps children learn to speak clearly, understand language, and express themselves. From early intervention for toddlers to school-age communication goals, licensed speech-language pathologists provide play-based, evidence-informed therapy that meets each child where they are. When services are authorized by a school district/DOE or through New York State Early Intervention (birth–3), they are provided at no cost to eligible families. Many insurance plans also cover speech therapy.

Helping Children Communicate with Confidence

Strong communication skills support learning, friendships, and independence. At Knowledge Road, licensed speech-language pathologists (SLPs) deliver individualized therapy to address speech sound production, language comprehension and expression, oral-motor skills, and feeding needs.

We specialize in early intervention for ages 0–3 and also serve preschool and school-age students. Sessions are engaging, goal-directed, and tailored to each child's developmental stage and interests.

With this service, we provide:

  • One-on-one sessions with a licensed speech-language pathologist
  • Comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing evaluations
  • Individualized therapy plans targeting:
    • Articulation: clearer speech sounds through structured, play-based practice
    • Language Development: vocabulary, sentence structure, and understanding
    • Oral-Motor Skills: strengthening lips, tongue, and jaw for speech and feeding
    • Feeding Support: strategies for safe swallowing, self-feeding, and mealtime confidence
  • Family-centered home-practice guides to support carryover between visits
  • Coordination with educators, pediatricians, and other providers

This service is designed to:

  • Improve speech clarity and sound production
  • Expand vocabulary and language comprehension
  • Build oral-motor skills for speaking and safe feeding
  • Increase confidence in social interactions and classroom participation
  • Support long-term academic and social success through strong communication
