Our Special Instruction program helps young children build early learning skills through everyday routines. With individualized learning plans, play-based lessons, and close collaboration with families, we support growth in communication, thinking, and social skills. When services are authorized by New York State Early Intervention (birth–3), they are provided at no cost to eligible families. For preschool-aged children, similar services may be authorized by a school district/DOE; private pay is also available.
Special Instruction is for children who may have developmental delays or need added support to meet early milestones. At Knowledge Road, credentialed early childhood special instructors use evidence-based strategies to create learning plans aligned with each child's interests, abilities, and goals.
We specialize in early intervention for ages 0–3 and also support preschool learners. Sessions are interactive, play-focused, and tailored to help children make steady progress in a supportive environment.
Early learning experiences shape how children connect, communicate, and participate in their world. By pairing play with clearly defined developmental goals, Special Instruction builds confidence, teaches new skills, and lays the groundwork for lifelong learning.
It's individualized, play-based teaching that supports early communication, thinking, and social skills. Certified instructors design hands-on lessons to address each child's developmental needs.
We focus on early intervention for ages 0–3 and also assist preschool-aged learners as appropriate. Plans are customized based on evaluation findings and family priorities.
We coach parents and collaborate with speech, occupational, and physical therapists to ensure strategies carry over across settings and services.
