Our Pediatric Occupational Therapy program helps children build the skills they need for everyday life—at home, in school, and in the community. Through practical, play-based activities, we focus on fine motor development, sensory processing, self-care routines, and problem-solving for greater independence. When services are authorized by a school district/DOE or through New York State Early Intervention (birth–3), they are provided at no cost to eligible families. Many insurance plans also cover occupational therapy.
Occupational therapy supports children as they learn daily living skills for play, learning, and self-care. At Knowledge Road, licensed pediatric occupational therapists provide individualized therapy addressing sensory processing, fine motor skills, attention, and organization.
We specialize in early intervention for ages 0–3 and also serve preschool- and school-age students. Sessions are engaging, child-centered, and delivered where children learn best—at home, in school, in the community, or in our clinic.
Occupational therapy helps bridge the gap between what a child can do today and what they need to do to be independent. By weaving sensory, motor, and cognitive goals into playful, meaningful activities, children make steady, measurable progress.
It's therapy that builds skills for daily activities like playing, learning, and self-care. Therapists target fine motor development, sensory processing, attention, and problem-solving using hands-on, play-based methods.
We focus on early intervention for ages 0–3 and also work with preschool- and school-age children. Services are tailored to each child's developmental stage and evaluation results.
We coach parents and caregivers to use strategies during regular routines at home and school, so skills are practiced consistently in natural settings.
