Pediatric Physical Therapy helps children build strength, coordination, and balance so they can take part in everyday activities and reach developmental milestones. We use play-based, goal-directed exercises that make therapy engaging and measurable. When services are authorized by a school district/DOE or through New York State Early Intervention (birth–3), they are provided at no cost to eligible families. Many insurance plans also cover physical therapy.
Physical therapy develops the motor skills children need to move safely and independently. At Knowledge Road, licensed pediatric physical therapists create individualized plans based on each child's evaluation—from early intervention for infants and toddlers to targeted support for school-age children and adolescents.
Sessions take place in a child-friendly setting and may also be provided at home, in school, or in the community. Activities are designed to feel like play while tracking steady progress.
Early, focused physical therapy can help children overcome delays, recover after injuries, and develop the skills needed for long-term success. By making therapy fun and including families, children stay motivated while making meaningful gains.
We work with children from birth through adolescence, with specialized services for ages 0–3 through Early Intervention. Therapists tailor care to each developmental stage.
Sessions typically run 45–60 minutes. Frequency and duration are determined by evaluation findings and the child's plan.
Many insurance plans cover pediatric PT. Coverage varies by plan. We also participate in New York State Department of Health Early Intervention (birth–3) and can help verify benefits for eligible families.
